February 15 is World Anthropology Day! ABC Radio South West Victoria called me up this year for their Breakfast Show to ask: What actually is anthropology? What do anthropologists do? What we can learn from it? And how to apply it in today’s world? To hear some answers, follow this link and jump to minute 18.45. Happy anthropology day!

I like to call it ‘the study of humans in the wild’. We are trying to get out and observe humans in their natural habitat, in their real life, and we write books called ethnographies about them. And then we compare across those ethnographies and try to find out what are the lessons we can learn about humans in general.
