I have published two monographs – Fields of Desire: Poverty and Policy in Laos (2014) and Projectland: Life in a Lao Socialist Model Village (2021), which both combine an engaging first-person narrative of my fieldwork with a political ethnography of Laos. I am editor and contributor to Stone Masters (2022), which examines stone veneration in mainland Southeast Asia. I also co-edited and contributed to The Handbook of Contemporary Laos (2026).
